COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to assist the practicing therapist in the examination and rehabilitation of lower kinetic chain dysfunction. The first four DVD’s will emphasize normal and pathomechanical movement and examination of lower kinetic dysfunction. A model of hip, knee and foot examination will be discussed and demonstrated. The last four DVD’s will implement the examination and treatment model for a variety of hip, knee and foot pathologies. Evidence-based examination and intervention strategies will be presented and discussed throughout the course.

PRESENTER: Walter Jenkins, PT, DHS, ATC

Dr. Jenkins is an Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Physical Therapy at East Carolina University. In addition to his teaching responsibilities with the entry-level physical therapy curriculum, he is active as a clinician with ECU’s athletic program. Prior to his current position he served as Coordinator of Sports Physicall Therapy at the Kansas University Medical Center’s Sports Medicine Institute where he was as Assistant Professor in Orthopedic Surgery and Physical Therapy. Previously he taught at the Unversity of Indianapolis and Purdue University and has been a director of several outpatient physical therapy clinics.
