Course Description:
This one day course will teach participants a comprehensive set of joint mobilization techniques for the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand). Lab and demonstrations and lecture with use of powerpoint will help those attending; leave with a firm foundation of joint mobilization techniques. Participants will also be given an inclusive collection of mobilization handouts for clinic use.

Upon completion the participant will be able to demonstrate and have an understanding of:
Perform a comprehensive set of joint mobilization techniques for the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand)
Understand the intentions of the aforementioned joint mobilizations
Understand indications, precautions and contraindications for joint mobilization
Discuss the evidence-based rationale for using joint mobilizations to treat specific pathologies
Presenter: Robert Manske, DPT, MEd, SCS, CSCS, ATC
Robert C. Manske is the Chairman of the Department of Physical Therapy at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas; as well as a Professor in the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program. Rob graduated from WSU in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1994, and further earned a Master of Education degree in Physical Education in 2000. He received his DPT from Massachusetts General Institute of Health Professions in 2006. Rob has been an APTA Board Certified Sports Physical Therapist since 2002. Rob is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers Association. In addition to his full time faculty appointment, Rob works at a Via Christi Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation facility; spending approximately 15 hours per week treating a variety of knee, shoulder, Elbow, Forearm and Wrist conditions. Rob speaks frequently at conferences, seminars and continuing education courses throughout the U.S.
