Course Description:
This course is designed to instruct the therapist in the evaluation of mild to moderate acquired brain injuries including those from external forces such as head injuries and concussions, as well as internal injuries from strokes. Information instructed will include anatomy of the brain, vestibular, and ocular systems. Labs will instruct evaluation techniques to test the vestibular and ocular systems, as well as the cerebellum.

Presenter: Charles M. Plishka, DPT, PT, NCS
Charles “Chuck” Plishka, PT, DPT, NCS is a national and international speaker, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a board certified clinical specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy and is currently pursing a Fellowship with the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. He works in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the acute care setting and teaches continuing education on neurologic topics, including vestibular therapy, brain injury, Parkinson disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. He is the Secretary and International Relations Coordinator for the Vestibular Rehabilitation Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the President of the International Vestibular Physical Therapy Group of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT).
